Cheese, a food that clearly needs cutting. But with what?
In a startling break from routine we chose to try the Pizza Cutter first. At first it was difficult to regulate the thickness of the slice, with the Cutter tending to want to veer away from the main body of the cheese and cutting short our slice, making it more of a shaving. With a little inwards pressure this was easily overcome though, and we found a reasonable amount of control could be gained, lending some flexibility to the thickness of the piece. There was, however, still some food loss due to crumbling, but this was fairly limited.

The Scissors in their own break from routine, once again performed better than expected. Cutting slices was a simple task, although it did involve picking up the cheese, which could have lead to squashing and finger-warmed depressions in the suface of the remaining block had we not been careful.

The result though, despite having its own rustic charm, didn’t quite match up to the clean-cut Pizza Cutter effort. We’ll save our Scissors for when we’re making a Ploughman’s, when the rugged nature of the cut would likely be appreciated.
