Meldrew in the Making

I recently got quite annoyed at my bank. The way in which it has dealt with a recent situation that has all come about due to a request I made to change the address on one of the statements has surprised me somewhat, with the bank showing a shocking lack of professionalism in some areas.

For those who are interested I’ve posted here a scan of the letter I’ve just written, along with copies of a letter I received from it and a form I was asked to complete. My letter describes the situation in detail, with the accompanying documents providing evidence of the disgraceful display.

Please feel free to post your comments on the bank’s actions or my response!

Excellent - those are some awful mistakes.

Ive found that dealing with Barlclays was useless when attempting to get off their marketing lists.. They still send me stuff and I keep calling to remove myself.

My best banking experience so far is with The Post Office who take cash and cheque for A&L Commercial Bank (and personal bank).
The guy at our local post office is fantastic and friendly.

YAY for free business banking :)

You must post the reply from your bank (if you get one).

    Fantastic Response Chris!

You are right, the spelling and grammar is very unacceptable. And as for some of the questions on the form - my goodness!

Jesus Christ, that’s awful. You are exactly right about the spell checking/professionalism. I’ve complained before to colleagues about people who use dyslexia as an excuse to spell things wrong in a word processor - Word even highlights words that are wrong, so it’s just laziness to miss them…

Thanks for the comments (and shared horror!) - I shall post the bank’s response when I receive it.
