I’ve been waiting for this for ages! Finally, the brilliant Armando Iannucci Shows are coming to DVD.
This is the Best News Ever. Or at least the best news of a comedy DVD nature I’ve had in a while. I don’t remember much about the shows, only that I really enjoyed watching them a few years ago, and I’ve been longing for a chance to give them a second watch.
I’ve also just been reminded that his new TV series, Time Trumpet starts tonight at 10.00 on BBC Two. Woo!
Now all we need is for We Are History to be released and everything will be splendid

Armando Iannucci (bio here) is a comedian, perhaps best known for co-writing Alan Partridge. He’s also had some of his own shows on TV and radio.
The Armando Iannucci Shows I posted about are what I remember most about him, and I thought they were very funny. I’ve added a link to the Wiki entry on the shows in the main post as it can explain better than I can what the shows were about.
Hang on - there’s a pretty good description of the show on the Play.com page I linked to. Perhaps if you’d read that you’d have been able to post a better, less rude comment.

Well actually, i did read what you’d written, just not the links (are you telling me you click every link in a post?!)
Probably what i should have written is “WTF did this come from”, being that i’d never heard of it. Oh, and the wikipedia link (which i did click on) hardly tells you anything about the show!
And if you’re being tetchy, i’ll call you tetchy. :p

My problem was more with the way you phrased the question, I think. It’s abrupt, rude and doesn’t show that you’ve thought much about it before asking. I’d have had the same problem with “WTF did this come from?”.
I’m sure you didn’t mean it that way, and I’m sorry to argue with you about it. Of course I don’t expect you to click every link in a post, but I would have thought you’d at least have a look at what I’ve linked to before asking for more infomation - this is after all why the link is there.
Once again, don’t call me tetchy. Just doing it to piss me off isn’t very clever. And if you remember, you told me you didn’t mind me choosing to use the same design for the numbers in the comments (let’s face it, they do look cool!).
Let’s not argue any more - I know you didn’t mean to be rude, but I’m sure you can understand why I took offence. And I know that there isn’t much information available on Wiki about the shows - to be honest I don’t remember a huge amount myself. I’m looking forward to rediscovering them in a month’s time
